The 2nd Red Carpet Evening will be held on September 17, 2008 at the Leonardo da Vinci Centre for the benefit of the 4th Montreal International Haitian Film Festival (MIHFF).

Opening night

September 19 at the Leonardo da Vinci Centre

Official opening of the Festival, followed by a presentation by Festival organizers, thank-you’s to our sponsors, and the screening of the opening film Les Enfants du Sucre (The Sugar Babies) in the presence of director Amy Serrano.

Guests were cordially invited to a cocktail party after the film.

Closing night

September 21, Centre Leonardo Da Vinci

The closing night will end the Festival with a closing ceremony, the awards ceremony and then the screening of the closing films The lost Children of Cité Soleil + Ghosts of Cité Soleil by Asger Leth, with the participation of Wyclef Jean.

Colloque

Exhibition: Voodoo: Art, Mystery and Religion!

September 16 to October 12, 2008 at Galerie MosaikArt

There are three components to this exhibition: Photographs, Paintings and Voodoo Objects.

The exhibition hopes to demystify voodoo for the public at large and for the Quebec public in particular. The vernissage will be held on September 16, 2008.

The 4th MIHFF will host the following conference:

September 20, 2008: "Voodoo, from Haiti to Montreal"

This conference will bring together specialists from Haiti and Quebec to debate the issue of voodoo. The complete program will be available on this website in the next few days.
